This book gives sensible, straightforward, easy to follow advice about meditation and relaxation to relieve stress and anxiety; the techniques are also used for pain management. Dr Heaversedge is a GP who noticed that there were no mental health equivalents of eating healthily and exercising. Mindfulness (being more aware and observant of the world and the people around you, and less aware of your own worries and difficulties; learning to live in the moment) and meditation together make up the “Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction” system. Following the system reduces stress, and the damaging effects of stress on the body. I would highly recommend this book.
